Power Rankings | Week 12

Redhawks, Sugar Kings streaks ended;  Falcons up to #2 in GOHL Power Rankings

1.  Cambridge Redhawks (24-1-0-0)
Last weekL 1-9 at #6 St. Marys, W 4-3 (OT) vs Port Colborne
Entering the game with 23 straight wins — two shy of the league record — the Redhawks saw their quest for history come to a crashing halt in St. Marys.  In the third-ever meeting with the Lincolns, and first since 2017, the Redhawks suffered their worst loss since a 10-1 defeat against Hamilton in February of 2024.  Cambridge started a new winning streak on Owen Yagar‘s overtime goal (video) against the Sailors as the Redhawks improved to 4-0 in one-goal games (all overtime wins).

2.  St. Catharines Falcons (21-2-2-0)
Last weekW 6-1 at Brantford, W 8-4 vs Welland, W 4-2 at #9 Waterloo
Treyson Dewar notched his fourth 2-goal game of the season for the Falcons in their second win in as many games against the Titans.  Ally Mostafaie had a career-high 5 points (2G, 3A) as the Falcons fired a season-high 66 shots on goal in the win over the Canadians.  With the win over the Warriors, St. Catharines extended their point streak to 6 games (5-0-1-0) and moved to within 4 points of the first-place Redhawks in the Eastern Conference standings.

3.  Chatham Maroons (20-3-1-2)
Last weekW 6-0 at Caledon, W 3-1 vs Sarnia
In Chatham’s third-ever meeting against the Bombers — and first since 2012 — Carter Chadwick scored his league-leading 8th power play goal and Viljami Kukkola made 28 saves for his first career shutout as the Maroons improved to 6-0 vs Eastern Conference teams this season and set a new franchise record with points in 11 consecutive road games (10-0-1-0).  Trevor Zanutto‘s league-leading 20th goal of the season was the game winner as Chatham won for the 22nd time in their last 25 games against the Legionnaires.

4.  Elmira Sugar Kings (19-3-1-0)
Last weekL 2-4 at Brantford, W 5-4 (OT) vs Hamilton
The Sugar Kings had both their 15-game point streak and 6-game road win streak ended with the loss in Brantford.  Brendan Gerber (London Knights, 2023) scored his second career OT goal (video) against the Kilty B’s for Elmira’s second straight home overtime win, extending their home point streak to 10 games (9-0-1-0).  The Sugar Kings remain in 2nd place in the Western Conference standings, 4 points back of the Maroons with 3 games in hand.

5.  Stratford Warriors (14-3-1-2)
Last weekW 2-1 at Pelham
In the win over the Panthers, the Warriors extended their winning streak to 7, improved their all-time record against the Pelham franchise to 4-0, improved to 9-0-0-2 when scoring the game’s first goal, and improved to 5-1-1-2 in one-goal games.  The Warriors are currently tied for 5th in the Western Conference standings, but have played fewer games than any of the 4 teams above them and their 3 regulation losses are tied with the Chatham and Elmira for fewest in the conference.

6.  St. Marys Lincolns (15-6-2-0)
Last weekW 9-1 vs #1 Cambridge
In their most complete game of the season the Lincolns smashed the Redhawks’ previously perfect record.  They extended their home point streak to 8 games (7-0-1-0), during which they have outscored their opponents 45-18.  The league’s top-ranked home power play (38.5%) was 4 for 4 against Cambridge, and they held the high-power Redhawks (5.8 goals per game) to just one goal, their lowest total of the season.  Two more games against ranked opposition await the Lincolns next week.

7.  London Nationals (17-8-0-0)
Last weekW 5-2 vs Brantford, W 8-1 at Welland
In London’s first-ever meeting against the Titans franchise, Ryan Nichols (Barrie Colts, 2021) had a goal and 2 assists and Finn Wilson (London Knights, 2022) stopped 44 of 46 shots faced in his first start for the Nationals since being signed last week.  Rookie Alexandre Campeau (London Knights, 2025) had a season-high 4 points (2G, 2A) against Welland as London improved to 5-0 all-time vs the Canadians and 5-0 this season against Eastern Conference opponents.

8.  Fort Erie Meteors (14-6-2-0)
Last weekW 7-0 at Sarnia, W 3-1 vs Hamilton
Colton Radford (Erie Otters, 2024) recorded his second career hat trick — both against Sarnia — and Ryan Schultz made 19  saves for his second shutout of the season as the Meteors improved to 2-2 all-time against the Legionnaires.  Sam Tonelli (London Knights, 2021) scored his 75th career GOHL goal and added an assist against the Kilty B’s to lead the Meteors to their 4th straight win and sole possession of 3rd place in the Eastern Conference standings.

9.  Waterloo Siskins (12-6-3-1)
Last weekL 2-4 vs #2 St. Catharines
Friday’s scheduled game against Stratford was postponed due to weather.  On Sunday, the Siskins’ record against the Falcons fell to 1-3 all-time in the 4th-ever meeting between the two storied franchises.  Rookie Ulysses Lombardi (Flint Firebirds, 2024) scored in the loss, giving him 23 points in 15 games this season.  The week ahead for the Siskins features three more games against ranked opponents.

10.  St. Thomas Stars (15-8-0-1)
Last weekW 5-2 at Hamilton, W 5-2 vs Komoka
In the Stars’ third-ever meeting with Hamilton, Luke Wachowiak (Niagara IceDogs, 2024) had a goal and 2 assists for his first career 3-point game.  George Matsos (Windsor Spitfires, 2024) had his first career 2-goal game and added as assist to lead the Stars to their third win in 4 meetings against the Kings.  Since scoring 27 points in his first 17 games, team scoring leader Myles Dunn (Sarnia Sting, 2025) has just 4 points in his last 7 games.
