Saturday, November 29:
Port Colborne Sailors
#1 Cambridge Redhawks
This is the third meeting between these two Eastern Conference foes, with the Redhawks having won the previous two in Port Colborne by a combined score of 9-2.
Aidan Hill (Ottawa 67’s, 2023) made 24 saves for his second consecutive shutout in a 4-0 win on Sep.21, and Sam Savery scored 2 goals — including the game winner — as the Redhawks outshot the Sailors 56-24 in a 5-2 win eight days ago on Nov.21.
The Sailors enter the game having won two straight and currently sitting in 5th place in the Eastern Conference standings, 1 point behind the Pelham Panthers with 3 games in hand.
Meanwhile, the Redhawks saw their 23-game winning streak come to a sudden halt Friday in St. Marys with a 9-1 loss to the Lincolns. They will look to rebound back home at the Galt Arena Gardens where they have yet to lose this season (11-0-0-0).
With the win streak ended, the Redhawks’ focus will be on maintaining their hold on first place in the East, as their lead over the second place St. Catharines Falcons is just 4 points.
