This will be the third of four meetings this season between these two Western Conference teams, with the Rockets having won the previous two by a combined score of 17-2.
Rockets third-year forward Zachary LeBlanc recorded his first career hat trick in a 9-1 win in the season opener on Sep.11 and had another 3-point effort in an 8-1 win on Nov.8.
The struggling Legionnaires are still in search of their first win of the season. A bright spot is the play of rookie forward Sarvir Jaworski (Sarnia Sting, 2025), who leads the team with 8 goals and was recently selected to participate in the GOHL Prospects Game as part of the OHL’s Top Prospects festivities in Peterborough next month.
After finishing last season two points out of the playoffs, the Rockets find themselves in another battle for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference standings. They currently sit in 9th place, 4 points back of the 8th-place LaSalle Vipers.
Strathroy’s leading scorer is Jake Ritson (London Knights, 2025), who leads all GOHL rookies in points (40), assists (27), and power play points (18). His 15-game point streak — which was tied for the longest in the league this season — came to an end in Wednesday’s loss to LaSalle.
LeBlanc — who had a total of 6 goals in 81 career GOHL games prior to 2025-26 — is tied for second in the league this season with 20 goals.
