Saturday, November 29:
Port Colborne Sailors 3
#1 Cambridge Redhawks 4 (OT)

Owen Yagar scored at 3:05 of overtime to give the Redhawks (24-1-0-0) their 12th straight home win in front of a crowd of 885 on Teddy Bear Toss night at the Galt Arena Gardens on Saturday.

In his 4th game as a Redhawk since being acquired from the OJHL’s Georgetown Raiders, Kaylyn McQueen (Soo Greyhounds, 2024) brought on the teddy bears with his first career GOHL goal at 5:43 of the first period.

The Redhawks took three one-goal leads on goals from McQueen, Luke Saramak and Brendan George, only for the Sailors (12-7-2-0) to respond with tying goals from Joshua Caesar (Ottawa 67’s, 2024), PJ Alexander and Giacomo Del Priore, setting up Yagar’s overtime heroics.

Redhawks netminder Aidan Hill (Ottawa 67’s, 2023) made 18 saves to improve his record to 11-0-0.  JD Low (L, 9-4-2) stopped 33 of 37 shots faced for the Sailors.

Cambridge has now won the first three meetings against the Sailors this season with the final matchup coming in February.
