Stars rookie netminder Weiss and 10 alumni featured on latest list
St. Thomas Stars rookie goaltender Charlie Weiss is listed as a 6th-7th round prospect for the 2027 NHL Entry Draft in the latest NHL Central Scouting Preliminary Players To Watch List released on Monday.
Weiss, a 5th round pick of the London Knights in 2025, is 1-1 in three appearances for the St. Thomas Stars this season. He earned his first GOHL win with a 34-save effort in the Stars’ 6-2 win against the LaSalle Vipers on Oct. 18.
Former London Nationals defenceman Cooper McAslan, who was selected to the 2025-26 GOHL Western Conference All-Rookie Team is projected as a first round pick. The 2nd round pick by London in the 2025 OHL Draft currently leads all Knights rookies in scoring with 4-5-9 points in 11 games played this season.
There are a total of 10 GOHL alumni from the 2025-26 season — all currently playing in the OHL — who are on the preliminary list.
