Nathan Ferris – who made his GOHL debut as a member of the Brantford Golden Eagles two years earlier – scored the first goal in 99ers history as the new franchise played their first game in Brantford, marking the return of GOHL hockey to the city after Golden Eagles moved to Caledonia after the 2011-12 season
