Action gets under way on Thursday in Game 1 of the Western Conference Championship Series when the #1 St. Marys Lincolns host the #2 Chatham Maroons at the Pyramid R.C. Game time is 7:30. The two teams last met in the playoffs 16 years ago in the 2009 Western Conference quarter-final, won by the Lincolns in seven games. Three years prior to that, the Maroons won the 2006 WOHL Final over the Lincolns in seven games. The two teams — which both needed seven games to win their respective conference semi-final series — will be vying for the Joe Thornton Trophy as Western Conference champions and a berth in the Sutherland Cup Final.
The Eastern Conference Championship Series begins on Friday at 7:00pm when the #1 St. Catharines Falcons host the #3 Fort Erie Meteors at the Seymour-Hannah S.E.C. Contrary to the lengthy Western semi-finals, both the Falcons and Meteors reached the conference final with four-game sweeps in their respective semi-final series. This is a rematch of the 2024 Golden Horseshoe conference semi-final series, won by the Meteors in 6 games. The two teams will be competing for the Tyson Downs Memorial Trophy as Eastern Conference champions and a berth in the Sutherland Cup Final.
